not sure what to do? please help

i'm trying to figure out what to do with the front landscaping of my house. any ideas anybody has would be great and much appreciated. it gets a full sun so i was thinking of using some kind of scrub. right now there are hostas there that i'm going to move to the side of the house so they can some shade. i'm in iowa so zone 4 or 5.

2 of 3: this is where i tried planting the hostas but they just seem to get to much sun and the vines are out of control now. so i want to pull everything and try something new but not sure what.
