Needs Major Help!

When we bought our house last summer, it was a flower bed full of weeds! We are in the process of ripping out all of the ground cover, but need idea's on how to move forward!

Snow bushes and burberry shrubs (the plum colored) would look great. The colors will get vibrant every year. They will also compliment/play well with the colors of the brick. Later on you can add colorfull little flowers under/in front/bordering the walkway (in front of the shrubs)
