I have a small southern california track housing yard with no view but we maxed it out with a custom water feature, custom fireplace, outdoor kitchen, living room, dining room and kitchen garden

3 of 7: The custom water feature with a minimal about of grass.

4 of 7: Kitchen garden- 3 citrus in pots and tomatoes and herbs in the raised planter next to the dining area

5 of 7: Mega Grill island with refrigerator and sink

6 of 7: The kids refused to give up the trampoline so we planted small fluffy trees (podocarpus henkelii) around it.
