Here we have a backyard fish pond which started simply enough. My teenage son was bored last summer, and I suggested he start digging a hole, as I thought it might be nice to have a pond. He dug and dug. It ended up being quite a lot of hard work for him, but I believe the payoff was worth it. Of course, we soon discovered that it involved more than a simple hole --
