Thank you so much for the lovely compliment. I love your "My Coastal Garden" album. I appreciate you labeling all your flower varieties. I was able to travel to the east coast this summer, specifically Acadia National Park and fell in love with the area. We were there in late June and beginning to see some beautiful plants along the way. Thanks again for your kind words and happy gardening! Lynn

Hi, Lynn here. The flower you asked about is liatris also called spike blazing star or gay feather. The pink ones behind those are bee-balm. Are you setting up a garden or established?

About the fire pit area...yes, I placed the black weed blocker that comes in a large roll around the fire pit. It is easy to cut with a regular pair of scissors. I do suggest using the pins that are u shaped to poke into the fabric to keep it in place because it is lightweight material. Enjoyed your photos. I would like to have chickens but live in town. Happy gardening.

I tried leaving a comment on your backyard and I had a difficult time, thus the empty space. Your backyard is soooooo nice. I hope you post more pictures. The colors are wonderful.

Hi Ron, Thanks for your comments on our yard. Your pond is GREAT. I love all the rocks. We are currently having a problem getting the pond to clear up. I don't know if we have too many fish in it. We are going to tackle the problem this weekend. Unlike you, we have a filtration system but it doesn't require a lot of cleaning. I also like your waterfall, I can just imagine the sound it makes. Thanks Lynn. Well I now keep at least 1/3 of my pond with plants in it and I don't feed my fish I let them eat what's in the pond

Hi Lynn, This is my first post. I hope it works :) I would like info on your pond. Did you buy a kit or did you make it your own? I want the same thing. I have my dirt piling up to make a waterfall, and we used to have a pond in that area so I do have my center dug out :) I just want to do it right this time :( What size pump etc. Thanks for any info.

Hi HS, Sorry it took a while to get back to you. I wanted my husband sitting by my side to give me the info since he did the grunt work. The pond was dug out by my dad and husband (by hand) 11 years ago. The hole was then lined with pond liner. There is a lip around the edge, lower then the surrounding yard, where the pond liner lays with rocks sitting all around to hold the liner down and cover the liner edge. The pump is a 24 gallon/hour pump purchased from Northerntool.com for $100.00. We live in Michigan and leave an aerator running during the winter. Our pond is only 3 feet deep at the deepest and 1 1/2 feet at the shallowest. The pond is about 16 ft. long by 7 ft. wide. I hope this helps in some way. Hope to see some pictures of your progress. Oh! The filter is a homemade job. The container is at the top of the pond. My husband found a how to on the inter-net. I'll take a picture of it and post it so you can get an idea.

That is fine Lynn :) I wasnt sure how this all worked. We had a pond years ago, then we had a bad neighbor that I was unable to go in my yard for YEARS :( Long story, we even live in the country! Thanks for the info. Our pond is 16x20 and deepest point in middle is 3 foot. We dug ours about 11 yrs ago too :) The liner was trashed out by me not being able to go take care of things. I am finally able to get back in my yard with neighbor gone :) Thanks for the info! I would love the info. on the how to from the internet.
