How much light???

Hey all...

Can anyone tell me how I figure out how much light my yard gets? I just moved into my home last November so I'm ready to start planting.

Hi All thumbs. Are you asking for a breakdown of what the gardening terms "full sun" or "partial sun" or "full shade" mean? I'm guessing you're not askig us to tell you how many hours of sun hit your own yard!

I'll defer to the garden experts in the community, but i believe the rule of thumb is full sun = 6+ hours of sun, while partial sun is around 4 hours per day.

Let me know if I'm off the mark.
