When I planted Liquid Amber trees in my Fairy Garden I wasn't expecting so much snow at 1000' elevation. In November the main trunk of largest of the 3 trees in my little grove broke off completely. Being new to snow country I have no idea if it worth leaving in the ground.
If anyone has seen a tree similar in size and shape recover gracefully from such a blow from Mother Nature please let me know.
Should I clean up the break just below the tear or a little further down the trunk?
Any input would be appreciated![]()

My best recommendation is to wait until the snow melts - even a bit longer - before you grab the chainsaw or pruners. Many trees and shrubs look downright pitiful now. I have an informal (unsheared) hedge of yews that looks like someone dumped a tri-axle full of snow on them.
