Firepit area

Meadowlark in United States

Our home sits on property that was left alone for 20+ years. Being smack in juniper country, the land is arid and scrubby. We're slowly but surely putting together a backyard we can enjoy, with a firepit - reminiscent of the camping we love to do but rarely have time for - as one of our key features.
Very much a work in progress, and these photos really are just meant to capture the journey.

Back Yard Fireplace Large (5,000 - 10,000 sq ft.)

3 of 10: Tree clearing and burning

4 of 10: the mini-deck, constructed to keep me out of the mud when it rained

5 of 10: where the firepit eventually will be

6 of 10: burning slash

7 of 10: Set up initial retaining wall

9 of 10: Second wall added outside firepit to further define the *camping circle*

10 of 10: Campfire coffee and roasted filberts. It does NOT get any better!!!!
