I built this bar and bbq myself in the summer of 2006. The foundation is concrete block, with El Dorado stone for the facing. 4-burner stainless steel grill and a mini refrigerator. Countertops are ceramic tile on cement backerboard. The bar area is 4 inches higher than the grill area in order to have a distinct bar/serving area.
The bbq/bar area took 3 months to plan and 1 month to build. It's been a great addition to our backyard.

"Yeah, honey, let's build an outdoor kitchen."
I had NO idea what I was getting myself into when I said, "Sure, dear."
My build is officially COMPLETE!!! It has been a long road, but the end results were definately worth it.
I first want to thank Bryan for hosting such a great site. Also, for picking my project as the winner of the Yardshare contest. I hope the finished product lived up to the expectations!!
If anyone out there is contemplating building your own outdoor kitchen, GO FOR IT!! The hardest part is getting started. Please use my photos and all the other great p

A summer project that we barely finished before the rain came. I hired contractors to do the concrete and an electrician to wire the spa. My father-in-law and I built the bbq from scratch. Careful planning allowed us to have the cook and guests at different heights. We also built the arbor- check your city code and inform your neighbors of your plans- I did all the stonework and my wife and I did all the landscaping and irrigation. Bury those drip lines to avoid them becoming the dog's next toy.

Our Koi pond is 5 years old and built by our loving hands. The BBQ and Bar were built first, then the Fireplace and Pizza Oven came next in a 2 year project all built by 'us' and is loved by all!

This patio was a grassy area in the back yard. We dug out the grass and 6" of soil. We layed in 4" of DG (decomposed granite) and then 2" of sand. We then circled the 4 trees with slump stone and filled them in with top soil. The area was covered by 3 sprinklers, One of which was capped and the other two were connected to drip irrigation hose (buried in the sand) to feed the tree wells. We laid conduit & sweeps for power to the BBQ & Patio area. On top of the sand we layed 12" stepping stones that appear to be old brick. We then built forms, mixed and poured concrete for walkways, bo

This is our villa in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. El Campo del Mar is nestled along the southern moutains 6 kilometers south of Puerto Vallarta with views of the bay and city to the north and Los Arcos to the south.
Our first project for the patio area was to reconfigure the pool eguipment originally installed under the arch and put in a new gas B.B.Q. We tiled the area, added a fold down work shelf and doors underneath to cover the storage space.
Our next project was to add a mosaic tile picture that we had made and place it on the front side of the patio arch. The red brick bor
